Stories and Songs

My Uratha Foresaken character, William, has joined the Blood Talon tribe. The first thing he did was gather those of his brethren that would come, to tell them a story:

Dingo Sun the Worrier

Long ago, five of the Suthar Anzuth found themselves on the streets of Wagga Wagga, how they got there and who they all are is not important for this story.

Amongst their number was Dingo, who bore the name-glyph of Sun and the deed name of the Worrier.

Born under the New Moon, Dingo Sun the Worrier, amongst the Suthar Anzuth who stand tall, ran the path as Hunter - quietest amongst all of the People. He forever hunted along the borders of his territory, alone unseen, into and out of enemy territories, he traveled unhindered.

On the eve of the greatest battle, with the greatest numbers of the Pure that these Foresaken had witnessed, and could only hope to defeat - for amongst the enemy fought Heart-Render - Dingo Sun the Warrior stood tall and with creased brow disappeared into the night.

Those not of the Suthar Anzuth, called him coward - thinking he had fled before the coming onslaught - that he had lost heart and hope. However, his brothers and sisters amongst the Suthar Anzuth held their tongues and knew that Dingo Sun the Worrier was gone to win great renown; until the morrow silence was their best service to departed brother.

When the sentries stood at their weariest, between the darkening of the New Moon and the rising of the Sun, Dingo Sun the Worrier left his territory and entered the ranks of the Pure. Unseen, unheard, he stepped into the midst of Heart-Render’s Pack, and with foot planted loudly a strike upon the sleeping Heart-Render, ended one battle - lost the second, but won the war.

On the morn, when the packs of the Pure arrayed against the Foresaken on the borders of Wagga Wagga, little joy was amongst the Pure. For their greatest warrior had fallen and while the Pure bore the head of Dingo - the Sun on his forehead with its creases of worry - Heart-Render lay dead and his pack gravely wounded. They had met Dingo Sun the Worrier in the darkest night, between the New Moon and the dawn, and he led them on a long and bloody chase.

So when the Pure, met the Foresaken, on the border of Wagga Wagga, and the blood spilled, and the People died, the Foresaken fought with more than hope, and the Suthar Anzuth howled the name of Dingo Sun the Worrier in renown, for he had sold himself in Cunning and stole the heart of their enemy.

He also told this story to the Living Flame, sometimes I believe it is known as the Sacred Flame. This story is part of constructing the Australian history for Werewolf the Foresaken.

He has also performed this country song to the Flame, I should post it on the list too.

The Legend of the Mercury Wolves

Roughly To the tune of D Ray White by Hank III, some lines unashamedly pillaged from that song.

Way down in Canberra town,

The people are one of a kind.

They don't need nothin' from nobody, 'Cause they're already doin' fine.

You got Howlen Thunderen Fear,

An' Hawkey gunning em down (in those Canberra town Blues.)

The legend of the Mercury Wolves,

Will never die like a rebel yell.

An' the Silent Shadow is a whisperin’ into her daddies ear.

Yeah, young' Jimmy' he Strikes Like Lightning.

An’ the Sky it Breaks with thunder (in those Canberra town Blues.)

The legend of the Mercury Wolves

Will never die like a rebel yell.

-Distorted banjitar solo, rar, rar, squeaka yowl-

An' Steals the Loci, you know he's done no time in jail (though likely he should.)

Flies-Off-The-Handle, he gets so fuckin’ angry, an always fightin' hard,

But I got no idea what about' (in those Canberra town Blues.)

The legend of the Mercury Wolves

Will never die like a rebel yell.

An' me' I just keep dancin' in my ol’daddy's shoes.

Yeah, I just keep fuckin’ punchin' out them Canberra town blues (those Canberra town Blues.)

Way down in Canberra town,

The people are one of a kind.

They don't need nothin' from nobody,

'Cause they're already doin' fine.

The legend of the Mercury Wolves will never die like a rebel yell.
